Basic Job Description:

The Construction Manager is responsible for managing assigned construction activities of telecommunication sites and overseeing all aspects of wireless construction for 4-6 crews. This position is vital to ensure quality construction is being performed within established budget and schedule while retaining customer standards of performance. It also requires the employee to remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on customer specifications and train employees to produce quality sites, which meet or exceed customer expectations. Tower Foreman

Basic Job Description:

This is a leadership position. It will require leading a crew of 4-5 tower technicians in completing a wide variety of wireless communication construction. This position also requires climbing communication towers and teaching crew members with less experience how to safely and efficiently do all aspects of wireless construction. Staying out of town and working in all weather conditions is required. Excellent written and oral communication is a must in this position.

Construction Manager

5+years experience


Cell Tower Construction Manager (Altoona, PA)

As a Construction Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for the site safety, quality, schedule and cost on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for assuring availability of resources with proper expertise and tools to support assigned construction project execution.
  • Serves as main point of contact between Project Manager and crew members.
  • Responsible for overseeing 4-6 construction crews.
  • Reconcile construction activities.
  • Reports project status and performance data as required to management.
  • Maintain and enforce all and OSHA safety practices and perform daily job site safety inspections. Immediately stop work on any site where unsafe work practices or conditions exist, regardless of who is performing the work. Conduct weekly job site safety meetings with all employees and subcontractors. Submit report to safety representative on topics discussed and names of those in attendance.
  • Troubleshoot field issues – including employee relations, customer concerns, and subcontractor problems and scheduling issues. Document corrective actions initiated, inform Territory Management of any issues not immediately resolved.
  • Interface with client's representative to resolve issues, schedule customer provided equipment deliveries and ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain open communication with internal/external field personnel and respond, if possible, or convey their needs and concerns to appropriate office personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of installation, terminating, and testing all aspects of a wireless communication site, including antennas, connectors, and steel on towers and rooftops, sweep testing, grounding, foundations, and site troubleshooting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Willingness to take hands on approach in leading their team through demonstration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having a strong work ethic.
  • Candidate must have valid driver's license.
  • Must have minimum OSHA certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver license and be able to pass the Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • RF Awareness, replacement and maintenance i.e. coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors and weatherproofing
  • Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to the Project Manager / Company President.

  • The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.
  • Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action.
  • Communicating orally and in writing.
  • Following instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.
  • Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
  • Act as a team lead and mentor to less experienced Tower Technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 5+ years of experience climbing and working on towers.
  • Have the ability to complete the Novotech Construction Tower Technician Training Program.
  • Must be a well-organized self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to take hands on approach in leading their team through demonstration.
  • Possession of a valid driver license and be able to pass the Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • Must have experience with line sweep and fiber testing gear.
  • Current Comtrain or equivalent certification in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Certification, OSHA trained, safety trained, line sweep certified, and First AID/CPR trained.
  • RF Awareness, replacement, and maintenance i.e. coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors, and weatherproofing.
  • Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to the Construction Manager.
  • Must have the ability to complete close out packages on time.
  • Must have the ability to interface with customers and resolve problems.
  • Must have the ability to run a crew of 2-5 climbers and solve team issues.
  • Must maintain level of excellence in crew's quality of work and mindset.

  • RF Awareness, replacement and maintenance i.e. coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors and weatherproofing.
